quick notes from Miz Mercer

I'll have an aria with that Angel Hair pasta...

Cafe Italia, our choice for dinner following EduBloggerConWest was a bit of a surprise. We chose it based on convenience (a block away from the hotel) and Gail’s preference for Italian. It was pricier than I would have prefered (although the food quality was fantastic, I’m just cheap that way), but Gail’s eyes almost popped out when one of the waitresses started to belt out a show tune. Then our waitress did some opera. I could tell it there were lots of rich retirees, because the “girls” singing were paying particular attention to the older male customers, and singing lots of old time show tunes about what used to pass for bad behavior (although Cole Porter started that complaint with “Anything Goes”). It was all pretty tame (no lap dancing). We both left with a smile on our face.
